We had the BEST day yesterday!! Before we tell you why, let’s start at the beginning.

Last fall, as part of the Class Acts tour, we were lucky enough to meet Annabeth Bondor-Stone and Connor White, the authors of Shivers! The Pirate Who’s Afraid of Everything. Our students fell in love. And we don’t just mean they thought Shivers was a little awesome, mildly amusing or a good way to pass the time. Our Book Retrievers loved Shivers so much that ever since November, SHIVERS HAS BEEN THE NUMBER ONE SEARCHED FOR BOOK IN THE ENTIRE JRE LIBRARY.  That, our friends, is no small feat. Every single day kids come to the library to see if maybe, just maybe, one of our several copies of Shivers has been returned. If the book happens to be in, it is never for long. (In fact, as I type this, no less than 8 kids have come to the circulation desk asking for Shivers.)

As luck would have it, there is a new addition to the Shivers series.  Shivers! The Pirate Who’s Back in Bunny Slippers has just been released and guess who came to visit 2nd and 3rd grade yesterday?
